Who we are
A foundation built on showing up
The Schaffa Foundation is a registered Australian charity supporting the most vulnerable people in our community. We run Street Buffet, feeding people experiencing homelessness and hardship every Sunday at Woolloomooloo.
What started with one man, a folding table and a bag of unwanted clothes has grown into a weekly service, a network of donor kitchens, and a set of programs designed to give people a genuine stepping stone — not just a meal, but confidence and skills for the long haul.
Since Street Buffet began, volunteers have handed over more than one hundred thousand hot meals. Every one of them was paid for by someone who decided this mattered.

We don't do this alone. Sunday in Woolloomooloo isn't one service — it's a chain of them, run by people who coordinate so nobody has to choose between a warm jacket and a hot meal. And behind the scenes, we're being mentored by some of the most respected community organisations in Sydney.
Homeless Not Nameless
The clothing & essentials market, 4pm — right before we serve at 5pm.
Since 2017, Homeless Not Nameless has run a free “market” under the train line every Sunday — new and gently used clothes, blankets, sleeping bags, shoes and toiletries, given with dignity and no judgement.

Wenona School
Providing fresh cooked meals each year.
Wenona School is an independent day and boarding school for girls from Kindergarten to Year 12, with a 140-year heritage grounded in courage, strength, grace, wisdom and kindness. Each year, Wenona students prepare and donate 500 free meals to the Street Buffet. These meals are frozen and distributed throughout the year to our homeless community in Woolloomooloo, providing vital ongoing support for our weekly Sunday service.

Bourke Street Bakery
Weekly fresh bread and pastries
Bourke Street Bakery: A Sydney Icon Giving Back Bourke Street Bakery is one of Sydney's most iconic food destinations, founded in 2004 by David McGuinness and Paul Allam in Surry Hills. Every Sunday, they donate fresh bread and pastries to the Street Buffet, providing a vital supply of food for our homeless community in Woolloomooloo.
